LJTY Terms of Use

These terms apply to the LJTY: Animated Bible app for iPhone ("the app"), offered by Noah Curic, c/o POSTFLEX PFX-643-139, Emsdettener Strasse 10, 48268 Greven, Germany ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

1. Apple's license terms

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

These Terms of Use add the points below. If they differ from the Apple Standard EULA, these terms apply between you and us, to the extent the law allows.

2. What LJTY is

LJTY is a Bible app with the King James Version (KJV), short animated videos that read a verse and explain it, recorded Bible audio, quizzes, plans, journeys and other features. Some features are free and some need Premium. What is free and what is Premium is shown in the app (Help > Free and Premium).

Free stays free: features that are free at launch will not move to Premium.

3. Premium subscriptions and Lifetime

• Plans. Premium is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, and a one-time Lifetime purchase. The current prices in your currency are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment. Purchases are made through your Apple ID. Apple is the seller and charges your Apple account when you confirm the purchase.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and is charged. The app reminds you 2 days before the trial ends if notifications are on. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy another Premium plan.
• Cancel. You can cancel at any time in the app (Me > Manage subscription) or on your iPhone (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• Lifetime. Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks Premium for as long as the app is offered, without renewals.
• Restore. If you change or reset your iPhone, use "Restore purchases" in the app with the same Apple ID.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple; you can request one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
• Price changes. Apple informs you about price changes for subscriptions and asks for your consent where required.

4. Your use of the app

You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share videos and verses with the share button in the app. You may not:

• copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or its videos, animations, characters, recordings or texts outside the share feature, except where the law allows;
• take apart or try to get around Premium or other technical protections;
• use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

5. Content

• Bible text. The app uses the King James Version (KJV).
• Videos, explanations and characters. The animations, characters, explanations, quizzes and other content are made by us and are protected by copyright. Explanations show our understanding of a verse in plain words. They are for personal devotion and learning, not a replacement for your own reading, your church or professional advice (for example medical, psychological or legal).
• Computer-made voices and images. Voices and animations in LJTY are made with the help of computer tools, including AI. The Bible words in the videos and in Listen are the KJV, word for word.
• "How are you feeling?" Suggestions based on your mood are Bible verses for encouragement. They are not counselling or therapy. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app available and improve it. We may change, add or remove features, for example to fix problems, follow the law or Apple's rules. We will not take away features you have paid for during a paid period without good reason; where the law gives you rights for changes to digital products, they apply.

The app needs an internet connection to stream videos and Bible audio, unless you have downloaded them with Premium.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee.

For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation (an obligation that makes the proper use of the app possible and on which you may regularly rely), and then only for the typical damage that was foreseeable when the contract was made.

Otherwise our liability is excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including rights for defects in digital products, remain unaffected.

8. Privacy

How we handle data is explained in the Privacy Policy: https://ljtybible.com/privacy. In short: no account, no ads, no tracking; your progress stays on your iPhone.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when features or the law change. The current version is always at https://ljtybible.com/terms with the date at the top. Important changes are shown in the app before they apply.

10. Law and disputes

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
